In-House Training

In-House Training

The U.S. patent system is ever-changing - never more so than now.  We have a longstanding tradition at Y&T of helping our clients and colleagues learn more about the U.S. patent law and practice, which we find is also one of the best ways to keep abreast of the latest developments ourselves.

We have also over the years hosted dozens of trainees from the patent departments of our corporate clients, as well as colleagues from patent attorney firms in Europe and Asia, for terms as short as one to three months and as long as two years.  Trainees staying in the US for 90 days or less can typically do so under the Visa Waiver Program, whereas we have obtained H-3 training visas for trainees who stay for a longer term.

We also hold weekly luncheon seminars on various topics in U.S. patent law and practice, to improve our in-house understanding and as a service to the larger community of foreign patent trainees who are stationed at any given time at various Washington DC-area patent firms - all are welcome to attend.  If you wish to be added to our mailing list announcing upcoming lectures, send us an email here.
